United Way, in collaboration with the Energy Specialist for Alachua Co. Schools, held a Day of Action on the EHS campus on Wed. Sept 12th, 2012 using volunteers from area businesses. A PTSA board member became aware of the Day of Action event to be held at area schools this year and passed that info onto the PTSA Beautification Committee at Eastside. The committee was able to successfully facilitate the touching base of key contacts between the United Way Coordinator and Mr. Charbonnet and Chef DeNunzio in order to iron out the project details to positively enhance student learning. The result was the planting of an educational elevated boxed Herb Garden for the benefit of Culinary students. What a wonderful addition to Eastside's Institute of Culinary Arts! A heartfelt thank you to all involved who made this a successful event!
